This mixture, containing increased amounts of perennial ryegrass and westerwold ryegrass, provides for a faster emergence of shoots and swift ground cover. The composition of this mixture allows for a more aggressive, faster developing turf, very well suited for covering roadside- and drainage-ditches. This mixture requires stands of medium fertility. It is less resistant to seasonal droughts and severe frosts. Taking into consideration the comparatively low longevity of perennial ryegrass /3-4 years/ as well as Italian ryegrass /2years/, the turf formed by this mixture may be susceptible to faster deterioration.
